How Matt learned he had been delivering stuff to the morgue all summer

Here’s my last post of the day I’ve been on a roll today.

My younger brother Matt’s been working for The Summer Youth Program this summer.Usually they assign him to do cafeteria work, this year they placed him as an orderly in a hospital. Part of his job entails taking paperwork and picking up paperwork from the morgue only thing is they never told him it was the morgue. Yesterday he went down with a sheath of papers. Usually someone meets him at the door and takes the delivery from him or they will leave whatever needs to be picked up on a gurney outside the door for him.

When he went down yesterday there was no one there to meet him, just a gurney with a sheet over it. As soon as he got close to the door where the gurney was he noticed a really foul odor. He said it smelled as if someone had crapped on themselves. He looked around to see where the smell was coming from expecting to see a pile of crap somewhere. He rang the bell on the door reaching over the gurney waiting for someone to come out of the door and pick up the sheath he had. He was there for about 10 minutes and finally decided that he should leave the paperwork on the gurney b/c he still had other deliveries and pick ups to do.

As he placed the papers on the gurney he lifted the sheet to take the package he assumed had been left for pick up. That’s when he saw the body; this was the first time in his life he’s ever been close to a corpse. At first it didn’t register right away that he was looking at a corpse. Then he got closer and got a real good look at it inadvertently brushing his hand on the shoulder of the cadaver. Next thing you know my brother is screaming like a bad actress in a “B” horror flick, and running down the hall as if the corpse had risen and was coming after him! He didn’t even wait for the elevator. He ran up the 7 flights to his supervisor’s office. They told my mom it took at least 15 minutes before they could calm him down.

And that’s the story of how Matt learned he had been delivering stuff to the morgue all summer long.
