Rigor Mortis Is No Excuse....

Why do people take photos at funerals?I’m not talking about photographing family which only seems to gather at funerals and weddings...I’m talking about the photographing the deceased...the dude in the casket.

I went to a funeral the other day and you would have sworn there was a movie star in the house with all the flash bulbs going off . And it struck me what the hell do you do with those pictures anyway? Do you enlarge the best one into a 10 x14 , frame it and hang it in your living room?I can just imagine pointing out the photos to visiting guests, “Yeah that’s me when I was in kindergarten and over here is my grandfather...in his casket” Do you place the pictures in an album and when the family comes over to visit pop them out for a glance along with your vacation pictures? Make it the family Christmas card? And why so many pictures anyway it’s not like the corpse can change his expression with each shot...dead is dead... it’s not like you can tell a corpse “Hey rigor mortis is no excuse for not taking a family picture, smile dammit!!"
