Canstruction® is a non-profit organization based in NYC committed to ending hunger. To bring attention to the problem of hunger they hold designing/building competitions all over the country. Competing teams, lead by architects and engineers, showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made entirely out of canned foods. The exhibits take place in different cities and when the event is over all of the food used in the structures is donated to local food banks for distribution to pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, elderly and day care centers.
