Ahmed in the foreground.. and a tribe of Berbers in the foreground...my camera was acting up and I missed a shot of the tribeswomen all lined up watching us...next time I'll take 2 cams with me!!....While the Sahara is 2.5 million years old, humans have lived on the edge of the desert for almost 500,000 years. Many tribes of indigenous people have existed in the Sahara Desert. There are still dozens of different tribes that roam throughout the region, such as the Chaamba, the Fulani, the Tibu, and the Doui Menia. Three groups of people, however, comprise the majority of Sahara-dwellers: Arabs, Berbers and Tuaregs.
